Confessions

I am what is referred to as a late bloomer in life. I took my time thru college studying philosophy and did not decide on a career until my late twenties when I discovered that my fervor for taking pictures could develop into a living. In 1990, I moved to Colorado. A place where my grandfather, Sam, grew sugar beets as a boy before moving to North Carolina. I started my studio, got some great clients and learned to snowboard and rockclimb between assignments. Recently, I met my soulmate, Dan. We moved to a beautiful home in Golden where I discovered my family heritage in gardening skills.
Confessions:
I do not know the difference between work and play (until it comes to accounting). I would rather go than stay but sometimes it is worth staying. I love good stories and I love to photograph the person or place that tells it even more. I have learned more from the elderly than any self help book could offer. I think gossip magazines are contributors to ignorance in our society. With the decay of copyright laws and the rampant rights grabs of publishers, I am fearful of the future of photography as a profession. I believe in fair trade and feel we should be globally conscious when choosing our purchases and that includes buying American too.
